Enter the annual PAYE and ACC earners’ levy from your payroll calculation, plus KiwiSaver and student-loan deductions where applicable. Avoid counting the ACC component twice if it is already in the PAYE amount. Current KiwiSaver settings must be checked; this tool does not calculate New Zealand tax automatically.

Use entered annual deductions mode: gross pay $60,000.00, income tax $9,000.00, employee social contributions $3,000.00. Compare other annual cash deductions of $1,200.00 and $1,800.00. These are hypothetical amounts, not New Zealand tax rates or allowances.
| Other annual deductions | Annual take-home | Monthly average |
|---|---|---|
| $1,200.00 | $46,800.00 | $3,900.00 |
| $1,800.00 | $46,200.00 | $3,850.00 |
The extra $600.00 deduction reduces monthly cash by $50.00. Monthly average means annual take-home divided by 12; it is not the amount on every weekly or fortnightly payslip. A pension contribution can reduce cash while building retirement savings, so lower take-home is not necessarily a loss of the same amount in total compensation.
Copy annual figures from the same payroll period into the tool, keeping tax and employee contributions in separate fields. Change only other deductions, then calculate again to isolate their effect. Do not count a deduction both here and in the gross salary figure.

The US has a simplified 2026 federal, FICA and state model. Japan has a 2026 resident salary income-tax estimate with manually entered social insurance and resident tax. Other countries use entered deductions.
A missing deduction amount does not mean a zero tax rate. Confirm all amounts, including genuine zeros, before displaying take-home pay.
