Convert major currencies with current reference rates

Convert among major world currencies using the latest available European Central Bank reference-rate set, with a dated local snapshot available if the live feed cannot load.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the amount and choose source and target currencies.
  2. Check the displayed reference date before comparing the result with a bank or card quote.
  3. Add the provider's exchange-rate spread and transaction fee separately when budgeting a real conversion.

How to read the result

The unit rates show both directions of the same cross-rate. Common amounts make it easier to compare a quote without repeatedly changing the input.

What this estimate does not capture

Reference rates are not executable trading quotes and can move before settlement. Unsupported currencies, cash rates and provider spreads are outside the calculation.

Methodology, assumptions & limits

Inputs are applied directly to standard finance formulas with monthly compounding where relevant. Results are estimates in the selected currency; they do not include every tax, fee, benefit, market event or local rule. Try a conservative and an optimistic case before making a decision.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the rates my bank will use?

Not necessarily. ECB reference rates are informational mid-market benchmarks; banks and cards usually add a spread or transaction fee.

How are cross-currency rates calculated?

Each currency is represented as units per US dollar, then the amount is divided by the source rate and multiplied by the target rate.

How often do rates update?

The live reference feed normally updates on European Central Bank business days. Weekends and holidays retain the latest published date.

Why is my cash-exchange quote different?

Retail cash providers include inventory, operating costs and margin, so their buy and sell rates differ from a reference midpoint.
