Privacy, explained plainly

EconoPi is designed so calculator inputs remain in your browser. We do not require an account, send the amounts you enter to a calculator database, or sell personal information.

Calculator data and share links

Your settings may be stored locally on your device so the calculators remember them. When you intentionally create a share link, the current calculator state is encoded in the URL fragment. Anyone who receives that link may be able to read those values, so review it before posting publicly. Clearing site data in your browser removes locally saved settings.

Hosting, security and measurement

Our hosting and measurement providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested URL and access time. We use this information to operate the site, prevent abuse, measure traffic and improve reliability. We do not use calculator inputs as an analytics identifier.

Personal dashboard

Watchlists, budgets, goal balances, dividend plans and saved calculator scenarios are stored only in this browser. They do not sync between devices. You can export a private JSON backup, restore it, or delete dashboard data from the dashboard. The backup contains your inputs; keep it private. We measure dashboard actions (open, save, update, delete and restore) and the type of record, without sending amounts, record names, tickers or saved conditions.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, linked to our Firebase project, to measure page visits, sessions, approximate location and browser/device information when you visit the site. Analytics uses first-party cookies with a lifetime of up to 180 days. We exclude calculator inputs, URL queries and share-link fragments from the page addresses we send. Advertising personalization and automatic form/link tracking are disabled. You can control cookies through your browser settings or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising and cookies

If advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Google's use of advertising cookies may allow it and its partners to show ads based on visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalized ads through Google Ads Settings and learn about additional opt-out choices at aboutads.info.

Children's privacy

EconoPi is a general-audience financial education service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children.

Policy changes

We may revise this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. Material revisions will be reflected on this page.
