Australia Hourly to Salary Calculator

How to read the result

Weekly gross pay = hourly rate × (regular hours + overtime hours × multiplier). Annual pay is weekly pay × paid weeks; the monthly figure is annual pay ÷ 12, not a particular calendar month's payslip.

Country selection does not automatically apply tax, social insurance, statutory overtime, paid holidays, weekly allowances or minimum-wage rules. Enter terms that apply to your contract. The default multiplier is 1×; it is not a legal recommendation.

Australia: calculation basis and example

Enter paid hours and weeks for your own job in Australia. Unpaid leave reduces paid weeks; overtime is multiplied only by the rate you enter. Employer pension contributions and benefits are not part of cash salary unless you include them. This tool does not decide minimum-wage or overtime entitlement.

Fixed educational comparison in AUD, independent of the inputs above.

Hypothetical AUD example: $25.00 per hour × 40 paid hours per week, with no overtime or entered deductions. Compare 48 and 52 paid weeks. Paid weeks include paid leave; unpaid weeks do not.

Results under the stated assumptions
Paid weeksGross annual payMonthly average
48$48,000.00$4,000.00
52$52,000.00$4,333.33

What the difference tells you

Four unpaid weeks reduce annual gross pay by $4,000.00 and the monthly average by $333.33. Multiplying weekly pay by four would understate the monthly average for a 52-week paid year because 12 × 4 covers only 48 weeks. Gross salary excludes tax and employee deductions.

Reproduce and compare

Enter 25 per hour and 40 hours, calculate at 48 paid weeks, then change only paid weeks to 52. For a job offer, confirm whether the quoted package includes employer benefits and whether leave is paid before comparing the annual totals.
